Fandiyaaru miskiy was built in 1000 A.H by Addu Bodu fadiyaaru named, Al Gaalil Kabeer Mohamed Samshuhdheen.
Fandhiyaaru miskiy is the only mosque in the Kogannu cemetery that is preserved under the protection of Maldives Heritage Department.
Two different levels of roofs with an opening in between each other is used for better ventilation through the mosque.
The roof of the building has been renovated using modern materials.
The original door and ceiling structure still exists and is clearly visible. The entry doors of the mosques used in the early days were 'Dhamaa dhoru' (Sliding doors). Special joints and carving characters of the building showed how skillful our ancestors were.
