An object, a design or a pattern that represents Maldivian Culture and Tourism was selected. And it's use, history and design was closely analyzed and reinterpreted into a 2-dimensional pattern which will be used as a floor tile design. The purpose is to gain knowledge into the process of exploring relevant designs and reinterpreting them into contemporary designs.
The concept of the tile design was to create a design that was true to the Maldivian tradition and culture. And also, be compatible with the revolving of time and modernization
The chosen object:- Kurandi Kolhu
It is a type of malaafaiy that is used to serve food for Sultan Mohamed Mueenudheen Iskandhar I (1799-1835 AD) and during special feast and festivals.
